Marion Tech Raises $20,000 for Scholarships at Golf Outing
Marion Tech is proud to announce that the first golf outing has raised $20,000 for student Scholarships. Local businesses, supporters, and 27 teams. Golfers hit the greens at Kings Mill Golf Course on May 25.

Raising money to help the youth of Marion attend a fantastic institution like Marion Technical College can only contribute to the betterment of Marion, and the surrounding communities we serve,” said Jon Ferguson, Vice President of Fahey Bank and member of the Marion Tech Foundation Board of Directors. “Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of such an amazing event and we look forward to doing it again next year!”
In addition to Fahey Bank’s support as the presenting sponsor, Marion Tech would like to thank Silver Sponsor OhioHealth, and the Bronze Sponsors: Alluvial Private Wealth, Airable Research Lab, Sakamura USA and United Church Homes.
Mike Stuckey, director of the Marion Tech Foundation, credits the community with showing up for students.
“We weren’t sure what to expect on our first golf event. We were
blown away by the support of the community,” Stuckey said. “At a time when the pandemic and the economy are stressing our students, every dollar helps.”
Andy Harper, president of the Marion Tech Foundation Board and retired vice president of Marion Tech, attended, along with Olivia Davis, another Foundation Board member. Harper seconded Stuckey’s sentiment.”
“The golf outing was wonderful; even the rain held off. All of the golfers were very happy,” Harper said. "This was a great introduction to many of the Foundation and how it makes education more affordable in the community."

After strong positive feedback from players and sponsors, Marion Tech looks forward to holding the MTC Foundation Scholarships Golf Outing again in 2023.
